Code of Conduct

PlastShop.se aims to set the example in the plastics trade, in how we do business, how we handle sustainability and how we treat people. To get there we have put our expectations in writing, for our employees, suppliers, partners and everyone else we work with.

A code of conduct is a tool that helps us make sure our actions match our values: ethics, transparency and responsibility.

Following this code is everyone's responsibility. If you see or suspect something that goes against these guidelines:

  • Talk to your immediate manager first.
  • If that feels wrong, contact the CEO.
  • Use our whistleblower channel.
No one who reports a problem or a suspicion in good faith will face reprisals!

People

Honesty and integrity

We act with honesty and integrity toward each other internally, toward customers, suppliers and other partners. Under no circumstances are bribes or improper benefits acceptable. Fraud, cheating or any other form of unethical influence is not tolerated either. Taking part in illegal or unethical business practices may also be reported to the proper authority.

Respect

We treat every person with respect, dignity and care. We foster an inclusive culture free from:
  • Discrimination based on gender, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation, disability or any other background.
  • Harassment, bullying or belittling behavior.
We believe in diversity, and that different experiences and perspectives strengthen both our organization and our results.

Human rights

To us it feels strange to even state that we respect human rights. For us it goes without saying! We support the UN Declaration of Human Rights. That means we:
  • Never accept child labor, forced labor or exploitation.
  • Promote safe, fair and decent working conditions throughout the value chain.
  • Require our suppliers to follow these fundamental principles too.

Communication

As representatives of PlastShop.se we act professionally and with respect, whether in customer meetings, in email or on social media.

We are clear, accurate and honest in our communication, and we use language the customer understands. Our tone reflects our values and our professionalism. We do not spread rumors, untruths or material that could be seen as offensive.

Planet

Environmental responsibility

At PlastShop we are fully aware that the materials we work with are not the kindest to the environment, so we work actively to minimize our impact. We do this by:
  • Promoting recycling and circular material flows.
  • Offering products with recycled or more sustainable origins where possible.
  • Optimizing logistics to cut unnecessary transports.
  • Requiring our suppliers to work sustainably as well.

Sustainability

The word sustainability covers more than environmental responsibility. To us it also means that something should keep working over time. We gladly challenge our customers and ask how a product will be used, so we can recommend an alternative. That often means a lower purchase price for the customer, or a product that lasts longer.

Health and safety

We put health and safety first, for our employees and for everyone who comes into contact with our products. That is why we:
  • Follow laws, regulations and recommendations for the working environment.
  • Can provide an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for every product we sell.
  • Work preventively with risk assessments and improvements.
  • Report and handle near misses, accidents and risks openly and constructively.

Profit

Sound business

The business we do should be sound, and able to be profitable for everyone involved. We believe in fair trade and an open market. Decent business, plain and simple. We apply clear and fair terms in our agreements and offers, and the terms are stated clearly to customers.

Business ethics

We follow competition law and good business practice. That means we:
  • Take no part in cartels, price fixing or anything else that restricts free competition.
  • Do not spread misleading information about competitors.

Conflicts of interest

Employees avoid situations where private interests could influence, or could be seen to influence, the company's decisions or business relationships. If such a situation still arises, it is always reported openly to the immediate manager. Some examples of conflicts of interest:
  • Business with family members or close relations.
  • Personal ties to competitors or suppliers.
