People, Planet, Profit
Our sustainability work rests on three legs. The people in and around the business, the environmental impact of the materials we sell, and sound finances that keep the work going for the long run.
People
We believe in honesty, integrity and respect in every business relationship. Our business is built on trust.
- Zero tolerance for discrimination and harassment
- Supports the UN Declaration of Human Rights
- Never child labor or forced labor in the supply chain
- Whistleblower system for anonymous reporting
- Flexible working conditions and an equal workplace
Planet
Plastic is a great material when it is used right. We work actively to keep the environmental impact down.
- Materials in a recycled version where they are available
- The option to buy back offcuts from machining
- Climate smart logistics through established carriers
- Helping customers choose the right material so nothing is oversized
Profit
Sustainable growth takes sound finances. We grow for the long term and with responsibility.
- Sustainable and stable growth
- Transparency in pricing
- Long-term customer relationships ahead of short-term profit
- Good equity ratio and cash liquidity
- No payment defaults
Plastic and sustainability
Plastic has a bad name, but engineering plastic is something quite different from single-use packaging. Our materials are structural materials that stay in service for decades in machines, conveyor belts, chemical plants and the food industry.
Engineering plastic often replaces metal, and then gives lower weight, longer service life and lower energy use. A slide rail in PE-1000 that replaces steel in a conveyor cuts both the energy use and the maintenance.
We help our customers choose the right material from the start. The right choice of material means longer service life, less waste and fewer replacements. That is the most effective thing we can do for sustainability.
Recycled materials in the range
Several of our common grades come in a recycled version. We use the suffix Reg (capital R) to mark recycled material in the range. These grades can be ordered in a recycled version:
- PE-1000 Reg, recycled PE-1000
- PE-500 Reg, recycled PE-500
- ABS Reg, recycled ABS
- PVC U Reg, recycled PVC U
- PMMA Reg, recycled acrylic
Get in touch if you want to know which dimensions and formats come in a recycled version for a given grade. Availability varies between the suppliers.
Our supply chain
We work only with European manufacturers certified to ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environment). Several of our suppliers also hold ISO 50001 (energy management) and publish annual sustainability reports.
- ISO 9001, quality management
- ISO 14001, environmental management
- ISO 50001, energy management
- REACH, chemical safety
Quality and traceability
For a plastics supplier, quality is an unbroken chain: the right polymer is chosen, the material has traceable values, the cut holds the dimension and the part arrives when it should. If it fails anywhere, the rest does not matter.
You get the datasheet, not a promise
Every material we sell comes from a named manufacturer with a technical datasheet. The datasheet states the test methods behind the numbers, usually ISO standardized: tensile strength to ISO 527, impact strength to ISO 179. That makes the values comparable between materials and suppliers. We pass on the manufacturer's datasheet and material certificate; we do not invent values of our own. Recycled material is sold as Reg and is kept apart from virgin material.
The tolerance is stated before you order
Sheets, round rods and tubes are cut to your drawing. Which tolerance we can hold depends on material and dimension, and it is stated before you order, not afterwards. In VisualCutter you see the dimensions and the price on screen while you set up the part, so there are no surprises when the package is opened.
Advice before the order
A part cut in the wrong polymer is waste, however exact the dimension turned out. That is why technical advice sits before the checkout, not after the complaint. Describe the application: temperature, load, chemicals, any need for food approved material. If the choice of material does not hold up, we say so before anything is cut.
If something goes wrong you reach a person
Mistakes happen. A delivery can be damaged on the way, a dimension can come out wrong. What decides things is what happens next: you reach someone who knows the case straight away, and we go through why it went wrong so it does not happen again.
