ElastoGum is a soft, elastic rubber with a hardness of 75 degrees Shore A, a running surface that damps and runs softly.

The elastic tread absorbs shocks and vibration and keeps the noise down as the wheel rolls. ElastoGum settles against the floor and gives a soft roll that is gentle on both goods and floor, especially on surfaces that are not completely even. The softness has a price in rolling resistance; an elastic rubber needs somewhat more force at start than a hard tread. Compare with a hard wheel in polyurethane or nylon and the picture becomes clear. The hard wheel rolls more easily and carries more on a smooth floor, but damps less and makes more noise. ElastoGum lands between the softest pure rubber treads and the hard plastic wheels; you get good damping and quiet running without losing too much in rolling resistance. Choose it when the load is heavy but the floor still calls for gentle treatment and low noise.

The twin wheel construction gives carrying capacity and stability. Two treads share the load over a wider area, which lowers the ground pressure per wheel and keeps the rig steady. The cast iron hub is stiff and carries load without giving way; it is the solid core that holds the shape of the wheel even at high weight. Inside sit double ball bearings that spread the load over two rows of balls and give smooth running under heavy load. The series handles load capacities up to 2150 kg per wheel.

The wheels come in diameters from 125 to 400 mm. A larger diameter rolls more easily over thresholds and joints and lowers the rolling resistance, while a smaller one keeps the overall height down where space under the cart is limited. The bracket is mounted with a top plate, four screw holes against a flat underframe, which gives a stable fastener and makes the caster easy to fit and replace. This series is supplied without a brake and is made for towed rigs that roll straight.

Dark rubber treads can in some cases leave marks on very light floors, which is worth weighing in on sensitive surfaces.
