Wheel in a fixed bracket with a solid PA6 wheel, top plate

This is a wheel in a fixed bracket where the whole wheel body is molded in one piece of PA6, that is, both tread and hub in the same nylon. The hardness is around 75 Shore D, which is a really hard surface. A homogeneous plastic wheel like this is made to roll easily and carry load on even, hard floors, and it takes the daily wear of a workshop or a warehouse.

The hard material is the whole point. PA6 has low rolling resistance, so the wheel gets going with little force and rolls on by itself. That is clearly noticeable on long corridor stretches and over many movements in a day; a hard tread simply offers less resistance than a soft one. The plastic also has low friction against the shaft, takes most oils, greases and mild chemicals and is unaffected by moisture.

There is a downside to know about. A hard wheel transmits unevenness directly, so the run is noisier than with a rubber or polyurethane wheel, and a hard tread can scratch coated or sensitive floors. Compare with a soft elastic wheel, which rolls more quietly and protects the surface but has higher rolling resistance and carries less. You choose the solid PA6 wheel when the floor is hard and even, when you want to roll easily and skip maintenance, and when quietness is not the most important thing.

Since the wheel is solid, the plastic works both as the running surface and as the load bearing body. That gives a simple and tough wheel without a separate tread that can come loose. Both a plain bearing and a ball bearing are offered here. The plain bearing is maintenance free and takes dirt and wet, but gives slightly higher rolling resistance. The ball bearing rolls more easily and gives an evener run, a good choice on carts that are moved often. Which you choose depends on how heavy the load is and how often the wheel has to work.

The fixed bracket locks the direction so that the wheel rolls straight ahead without swiveling. That gives stable tracking and often sits in pairs at the back of a cart, with swivel casters at the front for steering. The bracket is fixed with a top plate with four bolt holes, a mounting that spreads the load and holds the wheel steady even under repeated loading.

The wheels come in diameters from 100 to 125 mm and carry up to 150 kg per wheel. A larger diameter rolls more easily over joints and thresholds and lowers the rolling resistance further, while a smaller one keeps the overall height down where space under the equipment is short. The range makes the series suitable for medium heavy transport carts and machine bases.

Where does it fit? The PA6 wheel sits well under material carts, racking carts, machine foundations and equipment that rolls on concrete, tile or painted industrial floors. The fixed bracket holds the track on straight stretches and the hard wheel rolls easily even at full load. Sectors such as engineering workshops, warehousing and production get value from exactly that combination of low rolling resistance and little maintenance.

Think about the operating environment. PA6 is happy at normal indoor temperature and in dry to damp premises and is unaffected by wet. The wheel suits less well on soft, uneven or sensitive floors, where an elastic wheel gives better grip and a gentler run.
