GD80 anti-slip pads are round pads in black rubber that are fitted under the SF80 and SF86 leveling feet. They do two things at the same time: they stop the machine from wandering across the floor and they protect the floor surface from scratches and pressure marks. A leveling foot with a hard plastic base directly against concrete or tile can creep sideways when the machine vibrates; a layer of rubber between foot and floor raises the friction considerably and at the same time takes the edge off the structure borne noise.

The series comes in three diameters: 20, 38 and 48 mm, all of them 3 mm high. You match the pad to the size of the foot plate on the leveling foot you are using, so the rubber covers the contact surface without sticking out unnecessarily. The diameter is picked as a variant on the product page. The pads are delivered by the pack, with 250 pieces per pack for 20 and 38 mm and 175 pieces for 48 mm.

Rubber as a material is hard to beat in this role. It springs back after loading, follows small unevenness in the floor and keeps its grip even when the surface is dusty. The low overall height of 3 mm affects the total height of the machine only marginally and fits well within the adjustment range of a normal leveling foot. At the same time the rubber layer works as a simple vibration brake; high frequency rattle from fans and gearboxes travels less well down into the floor structure when the contact goes through an elastic layer instead of hard plastic against hard concrete.

The uses in industry and workshops are broad. Machine frames and conveyors standing on polished concrete. Packaging machines and electrical cabinets in food premises with tiled floors. Work benches and roller conveyors in assembly halls where equipment is moved around at regular intervals and the floor is to stay neat. Even in lab and office environments a rubber pad does its work under frames that would otherwise draw stripes in the floor covering.

Some practical advice for fitting. Clean the floor and the foot plate before the machine is put in place; grit between rubber and floor works as an abrasive and can leave marks despite the pad. Check the pads at ordinary maintenance and replace them when the rubber has gone shiny or compressed, because that is when the friction disappears. On very light or sensitive floor coverings it is wise to test on a hidden area first, since black rubber can in unfavorable cases leave dark marks on some materials.

Keep in mind as well that anti-slip pads do not replace anchoring. A machine that according to the risk assessment is to be bolted to the floor should still be bolted down; GD80 is the right solution for equipment that may stand free but should not slide around. If you need to look over the feet themselves at the same time, the SF80 and SF86 leveling feet are in our range, and the manufacturer's data sheet gives the dimensions in detail.

The pack sizes are generous on purpose. A maintenance store with one box of the right diameter covers the machine park for a long time, and when a whole line is installed it takes more pads than you first count on; four feet per frame quickly becomes hundreds of pads in a larger hall. Replacing all the pads during a planned stop is also considerably cheaper than polishing scratches out of a floor afterwards. Keep a few spare pads near the forklift aisles, where the feet take the most punishment.
