This is a swiveling caster with a tread in cast polyurethane and a hub in polypropylene. The tread has a hardness of around 98 degrees Shore A, a firm polyurethane that gives both easy rolling and a certain amount of give. The bracket turns freely through 360 degrees, so the caster can be steered and moved sideways with ease. It is a light and mobile caster for indoor transport, built for work where the direction has to change often.

Polyurethane is gentle on the floor in a way that hard plastic is not. The tread settles softly against the surface, normally leaves no black marks and absorbs small bumps, while the rolling resistance stays low. That means the caster gets moving without you having to struggle and rolls smoothly on an even floor, which shows up during many starts and stops in a picking warehouse or at an assembly station. The polyurethane takes wear well and stands up to most oils, greases and mild chemicals in a workshop.

The tread sits at the firmer part of the polyurethane scale. Compared with a really soft rubber or PU wheel it cushions a little less and runs slightly louder, but it rolls more easily and gives lower rolling resistance. Compared with an all-hard plastic wheel it is quieter and considerably kinder to the floor. The caster therefore strikes a balance, soft enough for comfort but firm enough to roll easily under a light load.

The wheels come in diameters from 50 to 100 mm. A smaller diameter keeps the overall height low where space is tight, while a larger one rolls more easily over joints and thresholds and lowers the rolling resistance. The polypropylene hub is light and corrosion-free and carries the tread without rusting, which suits damp settings and spaces that are cleaned often. The hub runs on a plain bearing, a simple and maintenance-free solution that handles dust and moisture and suits the light loads the caster is made for.

The swivel caster can be ordered with a wheel brake, which locks the wheel itself, or with a total lock brake, which locks both the wheel and the swivel and holds the cart completely still during work.

Where does it fit? With a load capacity of up to 55 kg, this is a light work and appliance caster for indoor use. It sits under rolling carts, serving carts, instrument carts, display stands and lighter furnishings. Since both the PU tread and the PP hub handle moisture and cleaning, the caster works well in kitchens, retail, healthcare and clean areas where the casters are wiped down or hosed off and a rubber wheel would collect dirt.

Think about the operating environment. Polyurethane is happiest at normal indoor temperature and in dry to slightly damp settings, and does not handle high temperatures as well as a heat-resistant plastic. If the caster stands still for a long time under full load, the tread can take a temporary flat spot that rolls out after a while; that is normal for elastic materials. The caster is sized for light loads and should not be forced under heavier carts.
