This is a loose wheel with a tread in polyurethane and a hub in nylon, fitted with a stainless ball bearing for surroundings where damp and cleaning otherwise attack ordinary steel. The tread has a hardness of 98 degrees Shore A, a firm polyurethane that carries properly and rolls easily. The stainless bearing is what sets the series apart from a standard wheel and makes it a choice for wet rooms, food environments and hosed-down floors.

The stainless ball bearing takes corrosion from damp, cleaning agents and washing without seizing up, and at the same time it gives low friction and a smooth run. Together with the corrosion-free PA6 hub that means the parts which otherwise rust have been swapped for materials that handle wet. The wheel can therefore stand in damp spaces and be hosed off without the rolling resistance climbing over time.

The polyurethane tread at 98 Shore A is hard enough to keep the rolling resistance low and stand up to load without being squashed, but it keeps the advantages of the material: it is gentler on the floor than steel and hard plastic, it does not raise as much noise and it grips better. Cast PUR takes abrasion and resists most oils, greases and mild chemicals. With many starts and stops the wheel gets going easily and holds its speed.

A comparison helps. A softer rubber or polyurethane wheel damps shocks better and runs even more quietly, but carries less and rolls heavier. A plain plastic or nylon wheel also takes wet but is harder on floors and ears and grips less well. This combination, a firm PUR tread and a stainless bearing, sits between them: load-capable, floor-friendly and built for damp.

The hub is cast in PA6, a light and corrosion-free nylon that gives a stiff body and holds its shape under load. Since the hub does not rust and the bearing is stainless, the whole wheel is equipped for surroundings where metal parts would otherwise be attacked. Inside sits the stainless ball bearing that spreads the load and keeps the run smooth.

The wheels come in diameters from 80 to 200 mm and handle load capacities up to 380 kg per wheel. A larger diameter rolls more easily over joints and floor drains and lowers the rolling resistance, while a smaller one keeps the overall height down where space is tight. Since this is a loose wheel it is supplied without a bracket and mounted straight onto its own axle through the hub.

Where does it fit? PUR with a PA6 hub and a stainless bearing sits under washable carts, process carts and underframes in the food and pharmaceutical industry, commercial kitchens, slaughterhouses and wet rooms. It also works in coastal warehouses and spaces with high humidity where ordinary bearings rust. On hosed-down concrete and tile floors the firm polyurethane tread gives a gentle and quiet run.

Think about the operating environment. Polyurethane is happy in dry to slightly damp surroundings and at normal temperature; the stainless bearing handles wet, but the wheel is not to stand submerged in water. If the wheel stands still for a long time under full load, the tread can take a temporary flat spot that rolls out after a while; that is normal for elastic materials.
