This is a swiveling twin wheel, a swivel caster where two wheels sit side by side and the bracket rotates freely through 360 degrees. The tread is cast polyurethane, PUR, with a hardness of 98 degrees Shore A, and the hubs are in polycarbonate, PC. The combination of a swiveling bracket and two wheels side by side gives both easy maneuvering and a stable run, which makes the caster easy to steer in tight spaces without the cart feeling wobbly.

How does the tread behave in use? PUR at 98 Shore A is semi-hard. It gives low rolling resistance and high carrying capacity, so the caster gets going easily and rolls evenly even when loaded. Sharing the load across two contact surfaces lowers the surface pressure and makes the caster roll more smoothly over joints and small unevenness than a single wheel of the same diameter would. The polyurethane takes wear, oil and grease and is gentler on the floor than a hard plastic tread.

A comparison helps. A softer elastic wheel would damp more and run more quietly but carry less and roll more stiffly. A completely hard wheel would roll a little more easily but make more noise and be harder on the floor. The semi-hard PUR tread gives a balanced mix: easy to swivel, able to carry load and reasonably gentle on the surface.

The polycarbonate hubs are stiff and light and take moisture without rusting. PC is a dimensionally stable material that holds the geometry of the wheel even under load, which helps the swiveling unit run true. The swiveling bracket turns easily so the wheel sets itself to the direction of travel all the time, which is what makes a swivel caster so maneuverable.

The wheels come in diameters from 50 to 75 mm and carry up to 90 kg depending on the model. A larger diameter rolls more easily over thresholds and joints, while a smaller one keeps the overall height down. Mounting is with a bolt hole, a single through hole, so the caster is fixed with one bolt through the swivel unit on chassis that have a centered mount. The series comes with both a wheel brake and a total lock brake: the wheel brake locks the rolling only, while the total lock brake also blocks the swivel so the whole caster stands still during loading.

Where does it fit? Swiveling twin wheels in PUR often sit under roll carts, picking carts, serving carts and lighter machine underframes where good maneuvering in tight aisles matters. The wide contact surface gives stability, and the swiveling bracket makes the cart easy to angle in toward shelves and workstations indoors.

Think about the operating environment. PUR is happiest at normal indoor temperature and in dry to slightly damp settings. If the caster stands still for a long time under load, the tread can take a temporary flat spot that rolls out after a while, which is normal for elastic materials. For a stable cart you should usually mix swiveling wheels with fixed ones in a well planned placement.
