Think about the operating environment. TPE is happiest at normal indoor temperature and in dry to slightly damp spaces. If the caster stands still for a long time under full load, the tread can take a temporary flat spot that rolls out after a while; that belongs to soft elastic materials and does not affect the caster in the long run.

This is a swiveling twin wheel with two running surfaces in TPE and a hub in polypropylene, mounted with a top plate. The two wheels side by side share the load and give a wide, stable run while the overall height is kept down. The tread is a thermoplastic elastomer at around 85 degrees Shore A, soft and quiet, built for moving moderate loads indoors where noise level and floor protection weigh heavily.

The TPE tread is soft and gray, that is non-marking, and leaves no black streaks on light floors. The soft surface damps and runs quietly, which is clearly noticeable in premises where you move close to customers or patients. The softness costs a little in rolling resistance: the caster takes somewhat more force to get moving than a hard tread, but in return the run is comfortable and the surface is spared.

A comparison places the wheel correctly. A hard wheel in polyurethane or nylon rolls more easily and carries more, but it makes more noise and can scratch sensitive floors. The soft TPE tread trades a little rolling ease for quiet and gentle floor contact. It therefore suits where you move moderate loads on fine indoor floors and want a low noise level rather than maximum load capacity.

The polypropylene hub is light and free from corrosion, easy to keep clean and untroubled by moisture, which is an advantage in spaces that are hosed down or wiped often. The bearing is a plain bearing, a simple and maintenance-free design that handles dust and wet and lasts a long time without lubrication. It is well matched to the moderate load the series is built for.

The wheels come in diameters from 50 to 75 mm and carry up to 100 kg per wheel. A larger diameter rolls more easily over joints and thresholds and lowers the rolling resistance, while a smaller one keeps the overall height down where it is tight under the cart. The twin tread means the caster stands steady even when the load is in the upper part of the range, since the contact pressure is spread over two running surfaces.

The bracket swivels through 360 degrees and lets the wheel follow through the turns, which makes the cart easy to turn and maneuver in a small space. Mounting is with a top plate, a mounting plate with four screw holes, which gives a stable fastener against a flat surface and spreads the forces widely. It suits carts and frames with a standardized plate. The caster comes both with a wheel brake, which locks the wheel, and with a total lock brake, which locks both the wheel and the swivel so the cart stands still where it is put.
