Industrial caster in a swivel bracket with solid PP wheel, bolt hole, 75 Shore D
This is a swiveling industrial caster with a solid wheel in polypropylene, a swivel bracket that turns 360 degrees and a total lock brake that locks the wheel and the swivel in one go. The bracket is fastened with a bolt hole, a single through hole for the bolt, which makes the caster easy to bolt onto a tube leg, an equipment foot or a narrow structure where there is no room for a top plate.
The tread is polypropylene with a hardness of 75 Shore D, which puts it in the harder range for the material. A harder wheel deforms even less under load, so the contact patch against the floor stays small and the rolling resistance low. You notice it as a caster that gets going easily and rolls with little effort, even though the load capacity is modest. PP also stands up to water, moisture and most workshop chemicals and cleaning agents, so the tread handles both spills and regular wiping.
The hardness has a downside worth weighing in. A soft wheel in rubber or polyurethane absorbs shocks, runs more quietly and is gentle on sensitive floors, but takes more force to roll. A hard PP wheel makes the opposite trade and gives easy rolling but a harder ride and more noise. At 75 Shore D this wheel sits some way toward the stiffer side, which means it rolls easily on flat floors but passes shocks on over uneven surfaces.
The hub is polypropylene, which keeps the caster light and corrosion free; neither hub nor tread rusts in a damp environment. Inside the hub sits a ball bearing that gives a smooth run and low friction. Together the series carries up to 170 kg, a level meant for lighter carts and equipment rather than heavy industrial transport.
This is a family with a fixed diameter of 100 mm. That size gives a good balance between low overall height and the ability to roll over small joints and cable ducts without snagging. The swivel bracket makes the caster turn in every direction so the rig can be maneuvered in tight spaces, and the total lock brake locks both rotation and swivel when the cart is to stand still.
Where does it fit? The bolt hole mounting and the modest load capacity make the caster suitable under equipment carts, instrument stands, lighter machine housings and rolling tables in workshops, labs and service points. Since PP resists chemicals and wipes clean easily, it works well in places that are cleaned often, for example at test benches or assembly stations. The total lock brake is practical where the cart has to stand completely still during work so it does not slide away by accident.
Think about the operating environment. PP handles normal indoor temperature and dry to damp premises. The hard tread and the small contact patch mean the caster is happiest on even, hard floors such as epoxy coated or ground concrete and industrial tile. On rough or cracked surfaces the ride turns shaky, and then a softer wheel is the better choice. Check as well that the floor takes the point load from a small, hard wheel.
