Swivel bracket and industrial caster with PA6 hub and PUR tread, mounted with bolt hole
Industrial caster in a swivel bracket with PUR tread and PA6 hub
This is a swiveling industrial caster with a running surface in cast polyurethane and a hub in nylon, meant for easy maneuvering with good wear resistance. The tread has a hardness of 98 Shore A, a firm polyurethane at the harder end of the Shore A scale. That means a wheel that rolls easily and carries well, while still being kinder to the floor than a plain plastic wheel. The swivel bracket turns 360 degrees and is fastened with a bolt hole, and the caster has a total lock brake that locks wheel and swivel at the same time.
A firmer PUR rolls more easily than a soft one. The harder the tread, the less it is squeezed against the floor, and the lower the rolling resistance. This caster gets going with little force and keeps rolling easily, which is an advantage when there are many moves in a row. The firm polyurethane stands up well to abrasion, oil and grease and keeps its shape even after long use, so the wheel lasts in daily operation.
Think about the trade-off. A hard tread like this one gives low rolling friction and high carrying capacity, but damps less and can be a little noisier on an uneven floor. If you want a quieter run and more shock absorption you pick a softer tread, but then the rolling resistance rises and the load capacity drops. For dry, even industrial floors where easy rolling comes first, 98 Shore A is a good choice.
The caster comes with two bearing types. A plain bearing is simple and maintenance free and takes dirt and wet, but gives slightly higher rolling resistance. A ball bearing rolls more easily and gives a smoother run. The choice depends on how often the caster is used and how clean the place it runs in is. The PA6 hub is light and corrosion free and suits environments where the wheel is rinsed off or exposed to moisture.
The dimensions run between 80 and 125 mm, and the load capacity reaches up to 225 kg. That places the caster in the light to medium heavy segment. A smaller diameter keeps the overall height down under low carts, while the larger one rolls more easily over joints and thresholds and takes less force to get going.
Where does it fit? This caster goes under transport and picking carts, assembly carts, smaller machines and rolling racks in workshops, warehouses, shops and lighter production. The total lock brake makes it suitable where the cart is to be parked safely, and the bolt hole mounting simplifies fitting on a simple axle or bolt.
Think about the operating environment. Polyurethane is happiest indoors at normal temperature and in dry to slightly damp environments. If the caster stands still for a long time under a heavy load, the tread can take a temporary flat spot that disappears once the wheel has rolled for a while; that is normal for elastic materials. Apply the total lock brake when the cart is to stand still on a slope.
