This is a swivel caster with rubber tread and PP hub, fitted with a total lock brake and mounted through a bolt hole. The caster is screwed down with a single through bolt in the center of the bracket, a fastening that suits fixtures, frame legs and equipment where a drilled hole is already there to build on. The bracket swivels freely all the way round and makes the cart easy to line up, and the total lock brake locks both the wheel and the swivel function so the unit stands steady when it has to stand still.

The rubber tread has a hardness of 85 Shore A. That is a rubber at the firmer end of the soft range; it still absorbs shocks and runs quietly, but gives a little less than a really soft wheel. The grip is good and the tread settles against the surface, which keeps both vibration and noise down. The rolling resistance is higher than on a hard wheel, so getting started takes a little more force, but the running is softer and gentler on the floor.

A short comparison helps to place the wheel correctly. A harder plastic or nylon wheel rolls more easily and carries more, but it makes more noise and can wear on sensitive surfaces. A softer rubber around 70 Shore A damps even better but loses load capacity and can feel spongy under load. At 85 Shore A this wheel lands in between: quiet and floor-friendly, yet stable enough for normal workshop handling.

The PP hub is light and handles moisture without corroding. Inside the hub sits a roller bearing, which spreads the radial load over rollers and takes heavier pressure straight down than a simple plain bearing does. That gives smooth running and stands up to the load that arises when the cart rolls fully laden.

The wheels come in diameters from 160 to 200 mm and handle load capacities up to 205 kg per wheel. The larger diameter in the series rolls more easily over joints and thresholds and lowers the rolling resistance further, while the smaller one keeps the overall height down. The bolt hole fastening makes it simple to swap a worn wheel for a new one without having to drill again.

Where does it fit? Swivel casters with a bolt hole and a total lock brake often sit under transport carts, assembly tables on casters, material carts and equipment that has to be parked safely. The brake earns its place where the cart is loaded and unloaded on the spot or stands on a floor with a slight slope. The quiet rubber running makes the caster suitable in workshops, warehouses and production areas where noise has to be kept down.

Think about the operating environment. Rubber is happiest indoors at normal temperature and in dry to slightly damp surroundings. Dark rubber can leave marking on light floors, so on sensitive surfaces a lighter tread may be preferable. If the wheel stands still for a long time under full load, the tread can take a temporary flat spot that rolls out after a while. Check that the total lock brake is engaged before the cart is left, above all on a surface with the slightest slope.
