This is a swiveling caster with a tread in cast polyurethane and a hub in polycarbonate. The tread has a hardness of around 98 degrees Shore A, a fairly firm polyurethane that sits on the border between soft and hard. The bracket swivels freely through 360 degrees and is mounted with a bolt hole, a single through hole for one bolt. The result is a compact and mobile caster for light indoor transport, where you need to turn and maneuver often.

Polyurethane is a rewarding tread material. It is gentler on the floor than hard plastic and steel, it normally leaves no black marks and it absorbs small bumps better than an all-hard wheel. At the same time, polyurethane has a low rolling resistance for its elasticity, so the caster gets moving easily and rolls smoothly on an even floor. The material takes wear well and stands up to most oils, greases and mild chemicals found in a facility.

This tread sits at the firmer end of the polyurethane scale. Compared with a really soft rubber or PU wheel it cushions a little less and runs slightly louder, but in return it rolls more easily and gives less rolling resistance. Compared with an all-hard plastic wheel it is quieter and kinder to the floor. The caster therefore lands in a balanced middle ground, soft enough for comfort and firm enough to roll easily under a light load.

The wheels come in diameters from 50 to 75 mm, a small and handy size. A smaller diameter keeps the overall height low where space is tight, while the slightly larger one rolls a little more easily over joints. The polycarbonate hub is light and corrosion-free and carries the tread without rusting, which suits damp and frequently cleaned settings. This version is supplied without a separate bearing in the hub, which keeps the design simple for the light loads the caster is made for.

The bolt hole suits fittings and appliance legs prepared for a central bolt. If you would rather have a top plate with four screw holes, the same caster is available in that version. The swivel caster can be ordered with a wheel brake, which locks the wheel, or with a total lock brake, which locks both the wheel and the swivel so the cart stands still during work.

Where does it fit? With a load capacity of up to 55 kg, this is a light appliance and furniture caster for indoor use. It sits under instrument carts, office equipment, smaller rolling tables, display stands and lighter furnishings. The combination of a floor-friendly PU tread and a corrosion-free PC hub makes the caster suitable in settings that are kept clean, such as offices, retail, healthcare and lighter workshop work.

Think about the operating environment. Polyurethane is happiest at normal indoor temperature and in dry to slightly damp spaces, and does not handle high temperatures as well as a heat-resistant plastic. If the caster stands still for a long time under full load, the tread can take a temporary flat spot that rolls out after a while; that is normal for elastic materials. The caster is made for light loads and should not be forced under heavier carts.
