This is a furniture caster in a swiveling bracket with two wheels side by side, entirely in PA6. Both the running surface and the hub are nylon with a hardness around 75 degrees Shore D, that is to say a hard wheel right through without a separate soft tread. The twin wheel design spreads the load over two running surfaces, which gives a steady run and a low overall height, and the swivel bracket lets the caster turn freely through 360 degrees so the piece of furniture or the cart becomes easy to maneuver in tight spaces.

Nylon is a hard material and that governs the feel. PA6 has low rolling resistance and rolls very easily, even on a rug or a floor with small unevenness, and the running surface takes abrasion and damp well. The flip side of the hardness is that the caster makes more noise than a soft one and that it can mark sensitive floors; a hard wheel does not damp vibration the way an elastomer does. This is therefore a caster for easy rolling and wear strength, not for silence.

A short comparison makes the difference clear. A furniture caster with a soft polyurethane or rubber tread would roll somewhat heavier but run more quietly and be kinder to parquet and tile. The hard PA6 caster rolls the most easily and takes the most abrasion, but it suits tougher surfaces best, such as hard floor protectors, plastic flooring, concrete and carpet, where easy rolling counts for more than the noise level.

The caster is mounted with a bolt hole, that is a simple bolt hole straight through the bracket, which makes it quick to fix under a piece of furniture or a stand. It has a wheel brake, which locks the wheel itself so the furniture stands still even though the bracket can still turn. The twin wheel itself is hubless in the sense that the running surface and the hub are the same nylon; the load is carried by the stiff nylon body around the axle.

The diameters are small, 40 to 50 mm, which is typical for furniture casters where a low overall height and a discreet look matter more than rolling over high thresholds. A slightly larger diameter rolls a little more easily over joints, a smaller one keeps the furniture lower. The series is built for load capacities up to 50 kg per wheel, which is plenty for furniture and lighter fittings.

If you want quiet running on a sensitive floor, a softer tread is a better choice; if you want easy rolling and toughness, PA6 is right.
