EVA CG Life Flex is a soft, flexible sheet in EVA, a material that sits somewhere between rubber and plastic in feel. It bends easily, springs back and takes knocks without being damaged. EVA stands for ethylene vinyl acetate, and it is the vinyl acetate content that makes the material soft and elastic instead of stiff like ordinary polyethylene. The density is low, around 0.93 g/cm³, so the sheet is easy to handle and adds little weight to whatever it is built into. It is a rewarding material to work with by hand.

What makes EVA useful is the combination of softness and toughness. The material damps shocks and vibration, spreads pressure evenly and takes back its shape after load instead of being pressed flat for good. It is compliant enough to line uneven surfaces and to take repeated bending without cracking in the folds. EVA is also gentle on whatever rests against the surface, which makes it suitable as an interlayer and a protective base where sensitive parts must not be scratched. The material has a closed structure and does not soak up liquid the way an open foam plastic does, which makes it easier to keep clean and dry.

In sheet form EVA CG Life Flex is used for shock absorbing inserts, gaskets and sealing strips, and as soft interlayers in packaging and fixtures where a part has to be protected against scratches and knocks during transport and assembly. The material turns up in interiors, protective parts, grip surfaces and as a damping layer in equipment that vibrates or shakes. The low weight and the compliance make it rewarding everywhere something has to sit soft and steady at the same time, and where a hard material would instead pass the shock straight through. It also works well as a mat that keeps things from sliding on a surface, and as a padding layer in boxes and crates.

The sheet is easy to work. It cuts and die cuts cleanly with sharp tools, and thinner material can be cut by hand with good scissors or a utility knife. The thickness and the softness decide how much the sheet gives under pressure, so choose according to how much damping or sealing the part needs. A thicker sheet swallows bigger shocks and seals against rougher surfaces; a thinner one is enough for lighter damping and precise interlayers. The material bonds to many substrates, and several sheets can be stacked and glued together if you need more height than a single sheet gives. Mark it out and cut against a straight edge and the edges come out straight.

Store the sheets flat so that they do not take the shape of whatever is under them, and leave them without pressure if they are to keep their full thickness. Compared with a hard plastic interlayer, EVA swallows the shock instead of passing it on, and compared with an open foam plastic it holds tighter and does not take up liquid the same way. That makes the material a good middle ground when you want both damping and a surface that can be wiped down and kept clean.
