Sheet in PA6 C OL 3048x610 mm black

This is a sheet made of PA6 C OL, oil filled cast polyamide 6 with the oil built into the material itself.

The material is semi-crystalline and has a melting point of 217 °C.

The density is 1.15 g/cm³ and the moisture absorption at 23 degrees and 50 percent relative humidity sits at 1.9 percent.

The yield strength is 75 MPa, the elongation at break 45 percent and the tensile modulus 3050 MPa.

The sliding friction against steel is around 0.15 dry, against 0.36 for unfilled cast PA6.

The continuous service temperature is 108 °C, 160 °C for short periods and the lowest working temperature -40 °C. The fire rating is HB.

Used for bearing bushings, slide strips, chain guides, wear strips and other sliding surfaces that have to run dry without regular relubrication.

The plastic can be sawn, milled, turned and drilled with tools meant for engineering plastics. Sharp inserts give a cleaner surface when milling. Moisture affects the dimensions, so let the material rest in the workshop climate before the finishing cuts.
