PE Bulk UV is ultra high molecular weight polyethylene that is also antistatic and takes sunlight. The suffix UV means added UV protection, so the material does not yellow and turn brittle in the sun. It is the heaviest PE grade in the family, with a density of 0.98 g/cm³.
The density is 0.98 g/cm³, the modulus 700 MPa and the yield strength above 17 MPa. The elongation at break is above 200 percent and the dynamic coefficient of friction below 0.1. The abrasion according to Sand-Slurry is 80 and the ball indentation hardness 34 MPa.
The melting point is 135 °C and the maximum service temperature 80 °C. The material takes temperatures down to -200 °C. The water absorption is 0.01 percent and the surface and volume resistivity below 10⁹. The molecular weight is 9 x 10⁶ g/mol and the fire rating UL 94 HB.
PE Bulk UV is used for wear surfaces outdoors, tipper bodies, slide plates and linings where abrasion, sunlight and static charge all have to be handled.
PE Bulk UV is used for wear surfaces outdoors, tipper bodies, slide plates and linings where abrasion, sunlight and static charge all have to be handled. The material combines the wear strength of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene with UV protection and antistatic properties.
This PE Bulk UV sheet is 2000x1000 mm in black, a format that suits cutting boards, linings and sliding layers where you need a generous work piece.
