PE Ultra HD is ultra high molecular weight polyethylene with even longer molecular chains than standard PE-UHMW. The big difference against PE-UHMW is the wear resistance. PE Ultra HD suits places where wear is the deciding requirement and where standard PE-UHMW is not enough.
The density is 0.93 g/cm³, the tensile modulus 700 MPa and the yield strength above 17 MPa. The elongation at break is above 350 percent and the ball indentation hardness 34 MPa. The abrasion per Sand-Slurry is 80, that is lower than for PE-UHMW, which means better wear strength. The dynamic coefficient of friction is 0.15.
The melting point is 135 °C and the maximum service temperature 80 °C. The material takes temperatures down to -200 °C. The water absorption is 0.01 percent and the surface and volume resistivity above 10¹². The fire rating is UL 94 HB and the building fire class B2 per DIN 4102.
PE Ultra HD is used for extreme wear surfaces, linings, slide layers and parts where the service life under abrasion is decisive.
PE Ultra HD is used for extreme wear surfaces, linings, slide layers and parts where the service life under abrasion is decisive. It suits environments with a high sand content, crushed rock or repeated mechanical load.
This PE Ultra HD sheet is 2000x1000 mm in gray, a format that suits cutting boards, linings and slide layers where you need a substantial workpiece.
