PE Ultra HD AST is the same ultra high molecular weight as PE Ultra HD, but with added antistatic properties. AST stands for antistatic, that is it does not build up a charge. That makes the material suitable for wear surfaces in environments close to electronics.
The density is 0.95 g/cm³, the tensile modulus 700 MPa and the yield strength above 17 MPa. The elongation at break is above 250 percent and the ball indentation hardness 34 MPa. The abrasion per Sand-Slurry is 80 and the dynamic coefficient of friction 0.2. The surface and volume resistivity is below 10⁹, which leads static charge away.
The melting point is 135 °C and the maximum service temperature 80 °C. The material takes temperatures down to -200 °C. The water absorption is 0.01 percent and the fire rating UL 94 HB.
PE Ultra HD AST is used in environments where sparks from static charge have to be avoided, for example around sensitive electronics and explosive atmospheres. At the same time the material keeps its extremely good wear resistance.
You get this PE Ultra HD AST sheet in 3000x1250 mm with a black surface, ready to be cut into linings, strips or cutting boards to your dimensions.
