    PI+PTFE is a blend of polyimide (PI) and PTFE plastic, made for sliding surfaces and bearings that have to run dry in high heat. The PTFE gives the low friction and the good chemical resistance, while the polyimide contributes heat resistance and stiffness.

    The combination is used where pure PTFE turns too soft and prone to creep, but where a sliding surface is still needed. It is more dimensionally stable than pure PTFE and takes higher temperatures thanks to the polyimide base.

    The weakness is the same as for PI: sensitivity to hydrolysis, that is hot water and steam over time. Where the surface has to slide dry and take heat, it is a good choice.

    The 125x300 mm format in gray makes this sheet in PI+PTFE a practical blank for both wear plates and precision parts.
