    ECTFE is a partly fluorinated fluoropolymer that is much stiffer and harder than PFA and FEP, while it keeps the chemical tolerance of the family. It handles alkaline environments above pH 10, unlike ordinary PVDF, and it is the fluoropolymer that best takes mechanical strain.

    The tensile modulus is 1 650 MPa against 450 for PFA, and the yield strength 31 MPa. Despite the stiffness the material is tough, with a notched impact strength above 100 kJ/m². The ball indentation hardness is 56 MPa and the Vicat softening point 118 degrees. The temperature range is -40 to +150 degrees, so ECTFE takes neither as deep cold nor as high heat as PFA.

    The roll is supplied in natural, uncolored, and is used mainly for lining steel tanks and in composite construction against glass fiber reinforced plastic. The low permeation makes it suitable where a structure has to stay tight against penetrating media. We cut the roll to the width and length you need.
