Are you pondering thread dimension or screw length? Get in touch, we will help you find the right version.
A leveling foot only does good if it can be adjusted once the machine is in place. If the foot sits under a frame leg made of tube you rarely reach the base from the side, and then the hex socket versions are the answer: the screw has a hex socket in the top, so you set the height from above, through the opening of the tube or a hole in the table top. It may sound like a detail, but anyone who has once lain under a heavy packing table with a flashlight in their mouth knows that it is not. SF36 combines a square slot in the bottom, a wrench grip on the base and a hex socket in the top; it is the most complete set of adjustment options in the series. However you build the frame, you will be able to reach and turn the foot from somewhere.
You buy the series as one product and pick the dimension as a variant on the product page. SF36 comes in fifteen designs with a foot diameter of 35 mm and a foot height of 16.5 mm. The thread is M8 or M10 and the screw lengths run from 15 to 95 mm in close steps, so you can choose a length that gives exactly the adjustment range the structure calls for. Choose the screw length by how much adjustment range the structure needs; more length gives a larger range but also calls for more free space in the tube. If you need to calculate the range, take the largest level difference in the floor plus a little reserve, and it usually lands right.
Mounting is the same as for other leveling feet. A threaded hole or a welded in threaded plate in the frame leg, screw in the foot and set the height. Lock with a nut if the setting is to be fixed; if the machine vibrates a lot the lock nut is not negotiable, otherwise the setting wanders over time. The manufacturer states an axial load of 400 kg per foot for M8 and 500 kg for M10; with four feet under the frame there is therefore good capacity, but count on margin with an uneven load. Spread the load over all the feet and go up in foot diameter if the floor is soft or sensitive.
SF36 is packed in 150 to 400 pieces depending on version. Complete dimensions for each version are in the manufacturer's data sheet, and the variant list with supplier codes is on the product page.
