The foot body is injection molded in PA6, nylon, which combines toughness with good wear resistance; the material stands up to oils, greases and normal cleaning agents and does not crack from daily handling. The screw is in zinc plated steel with basic corrosion protection for indoor environments. All versions are black with a matte surface, discreet under practically any equipment. If the foot is to sit outdoors or in a tough chemical environment it is worth checking the material choice first; for a normal indoor industrial environment the combination is well proven.

The hex socket feet are used under machine frames, conveyors, work tables and control cabinets built from tube profiles, that is exactly the structures where adjustment from below is impractical. They are also welcome when rebuilding existing frames; you do not have to lift or tip the equipment to get it level, you simply put the hex key down from above and turn until it is right. The plastic base does not scratch the floor and never rusts, and it damps some of the structure borne noise from the machine. The same principle applies to height adjustable work tables in assembly, where the feet level the table before the columns do the fine work. Just keep in mind that the upper end of the tube has to be reachable; if a plug or a shelf is in the way you have to plan the access from the start.

In short: the same proven leveling foot, but reachable from above.

Mounting is the same as for other leveling feet. A threaded hole or a welded in threaded plate in the frame leg, screw in the foot and set the height. Lock with a nut if the setting is to be fixed; if the machine vibrates a lot the lock nut is not negotiable, otherwise the setting wanders over time. Load data is missing from the supplier documentation for this series, so be conservative: a coarser thread and a larger base if the equipment weighs a lot, and check the data sheet before you decide. Spread the load over all the feet and go up in foot diameter if the floor is soft or sensitive.

A leveling foot only does good if it can be adjusted once the machine is in place. If the foot sits under a frame leg made of tube you rarely reach the base from the side, and then the hex socket versions are the answer: the screw has a hex socket in the top, so you set the height from above, through the opening of the tube or a hole in the table top. It may sound like a detail, but anyone who has once lain under a heavy packing table with a flashlight in their mouth knows that it is not. SF126 is a low foot with a knurled base and a hex socket in both the bottom and the top. Three ways to adjust, in other words: by hand on the knurling, with a tool from below or with a hex key from above through the tube.

You buy the series as one product and pick the dimension as a variant on the product page. SF126 comes in two designs with a foot diameter of 20 mm, a foot height of 6.5 mm and an M6 thread; the screw length is 19 or 25 mm. The series is, in other words, focused on small and low installations, such as instrument cases and smaller covers where every millimeter of overall height counts. Choose the screw length by how much adjustment range the structure needs; more length gives a larger range but also calls for more free space in the tube. If you need to calculate the range, take the largest level difference in the floor plus a little reserve, and it usually lands right.

SF126 is packed in 500 pieces per pack whatever the version. Complete dimensions for each version are in the manufacturer's data sheet, and the variant list with supplier codes is on the product page.
