Are you puzzling over thread size or screw length? Get in touch and we will help you find the right version.

A leveling foot only does good if it can be adjusted once the machine is in place. If the foot sits under a frame leg made of tube you rarely reach the base from the side, and then the hex socket versions are the answer: the screw has a hex socket in the top, so you set the height from above, through the opening of the tube or a hole in the table top. It may sound like a detail, but anyone who has once lain under a heavy packing table with a flashlight in their mouth knows that it is not. SF86 is the movable member of the series: the foot can be angled 4 degrees and follows smaller slopes in the floor. A hex socket in the top, a screwdriver slot in the bottom and a wrench grip on the screw give several ways to adjust it.

You buy the series as one product and pick the dimension as a variant on the product page. SF86 comes in 39 designs with five foot diameters from 20 to 48 mm. The threads are M8, M10 and M12 and the screw lengths run from 25 to 120 mm, which gives plenty of room to match both slim and heavy frame tube. Choose the screw length by how much adjustment range the structure needs; more length gives a larger range but also calls for more free space in the tube. If you need to calculate the range, take the largest level difference in the floor plus a little reserve, and it usually lands right.

Fitting is the same as for the other leveling feet. A threaded hole or a welded in threaded plate in the frame leg, screw in the foot and set the height. Lock it with a nut if the setting has to stay put; if the machine vibrates a lot the lock nut is not negotiable, because otherwise the setting wanders over time. The manufacturer states an axial load between 400 and 550 kg per foot depending on version, with exact figures in the variant data. Count on a margin if the load is unevenly spread or dynamic. Spread the load over all the feet and go up in foot diameter if the floor is soft or sensitive.

SF86 is packed in 75 to 500 pieces depending on version. Complete dimensions for each version are found in the manufacturer's data sheet, and the variant list with supplier codes is on the product page.
