Industrial caster in a fixed bracket with ElastoGum tread and aluminum hub, 75 Shore A

This is an industrial caster in a fixed bracket with an ElastoGum tread and an aluminum hub. The tread has a hardness of 75 degrees Shore A, so somewhat softer than the firmer rubber grades, which makes the caster a good choice where you want to put quiet running and gentle contact with the floor before maximum load capacity. The rubber settles against the floor and takes up shocks and vibration, so that both cart and goods avoid the small tremors that otherwise travel up through a harder wheel.

The fixed bracket locks the direction of travel straight ahead. That is exactly what you want on the wheels that keep a rig on track, while swivel casters handle the maneuvering at the other end. The combination of straight running and a soft tread gives a steady, controlled movement that suits both continuous conveyor lines and individual carts.

A short comparison helps you place the caster correctly. A softer wheel with a lower Shore number is even quieter and damps more, but loses load capacity and can feel a bit more sluggish to get moving. A harder wheel, or a stiff plastic wheel in nylon, rolls the easiest and carries the most, but makes more noise and is harder on the floor. ElastoGum at 75 Shore A lands in the practical middle ground: soft enough for quiet, floor-friendly running, yet stiff enough to hold its shape and carry properly.

The aluminum hub is stiff and light at the same time. It is the body that carries the load and keeps the shape of the wheel, and since aluminum does not rust it handles damp premises without taking damage. In the hub sit double ball bearings that spread the load over two rows of balls; that gives even running and keeps the wheel stable even under a heavy load and at higher speed.

The series comes in diameters from 100 to 250 mm and carries up to 450 kg per wheel. A larger diameter lowers the rolling resistance and rolls more easily over joints, thresholds and cable ducts, while a smaller one keeps the overall height low where it is tight under the cart. The bracket is fastened with a top plate, a plate with four screw holes that gives a stable grip against the underframe.

Where does it come in useful? This spread of diameter and load capacity makes the caster usable under everything from lighter material carts to heavier transport carts in industry and warehousing. You find it under assembly tables, roll carts and machine underframes where the movement has to be even and the noise level low. The soft tread is happiest on coated or ground concrete and on tile, and the straight running makes it a reliable steering caster in a larger rig.

Think about the operating environment. ElastoGum is an indoor material that is happiest at normal temperature and in dry to slightly damp surroundings. If the wheel stands still for a long time under a full load, the tread can take a temporary flat spot that rolls out after a while; that is normal for elastic materials and is not a fault. The tread takes shocks well but is not intended for rough outdoor ground.
