Industrial caster in a fixed bracket with a firmer ElastoPUR tread and aluminum hub
This is an industrial caster in a fixed bracket with an ElastoPUR tread and an aluminum hub, here in a firmer version at 93 degrees Shore A. The higher hardness makes the tread stiffer than the softest polyurethane versions, which lowers the rolling resistance further and gives a caster that rolls easily while it keeps the good wear resistance of polyurethane.
How does the firmer tread show in operation? A harder running surface deforms less under load, and less deformation means lower rolling resistance; the cart rolls more easily and takes less force over longer distances. In return, a firm tread damps less than a really soft one, so vibration from joints and uneven floors comes through more clearly. Set against a soft ElastoPUR at 75 Shore A the trade-off is clear: the firmer tread prioritizes easy rolling and wear resistance, the softer one prioritizes quiet, shock-absorbed running. Compared with a hard plastic wheel in nylon, 93 Shore A is still a polyurethane that spares the floor more and makes less noise.
The fixed bracket keeps the caster locked in direction. It rolls straight ahead and works as a guiding caster together with swivel casters, or on a set track where the load has to follow a line. The top plate with four screw holes is bolted to the frame and gives a stable fastener. The aluminum hub is stiff, dimensionally stable and light, and its corrosion-resistant properties suit damp or washed-down environments.
Inside the hub sit double ball bearings. With two rows of balls the load is spread over more contact points, which gives a stable and even run even when the wheel is loaded or exposed to side forces. The series handles load capacities up to 450 kg per wheel, which makes it suitable for light to medium-heavy transport where easy rolling and precision weigh heavier than maximum load.
The diameters run from 100 to 200 mm. A larger diameter rolls more easily over thresholds and cable ducts and keeps the rolling resistance down, while a smaller one lowers the overall height where space is limited. Within this range the caster lands in a size that suits most equipment carts and machine carts indoors.
Where does it fit? An industrial caster in a fixed bracket with a firmer ElastoPUR tread and double ball bearings sits well under equipment carts, instrument carts, lighter machine underframes and transport tables where you want low rolling force and a stable, precise run. The fixed bracket makes it a guiding caster in a setup, and the double ball bearings keep it even under frequent movement. It works well on ground concrete, tile and other hard indoor floors.
Think about the operating environment. Polyurethane is happy at normal indoor temperature and in dry to slightly damp premises. If the caster stands still for a long time under load, a tread can take a light flat spot, but a firmer polyurethane is less prone to this than a soft version. For high temperatures or aggressive chemicals there are other tread choices better suited.
