Wheel in a fixed bracket with ElastoPUR tread and aluminum hub

This is a wheel in a fixed bracket with a running surface in ElastoPUR and a hub in aluminum, built for transport where the wheel has to roll straight and hold the track. The fixed bracket does not turn but steers the goods in a set direction, which makes the wheel a natural choice at the front of a cart or along a run where the movement should be predictable. The tread in ElastoPUR is a soft, super elastic polyurethane with a hardness of 83 degrees Shore A.

ElastoPUR gives a soft run and settles easily against the floor, which keeps both vibrations and noise down as the wheel rolls. Soft does not mean sluggish, though. The polyurethane has low rolling resistance in relation to its elasticity, so the wheel starts without unnecessary force. That shows over many starts and stops, for example on an assembly line or on an internal transport route. The tread also protects the floor and takes wear well, and it resists most oils, greases and mild chemicals found in a workshop.

Compared with a hard wheel in nylon or plastic, the hard one rolls more easily on a perfect floor and carries more, but it is noisier and can scratch sensitive surfaces. ElastoPUR leans toward the damped end: a softer, quieter run that is kind to the floor, without losing too much in rolling resistance. That makes the wheel a good middle ground when you want both gentleness and a reasonable load in the same wheel.

The hub in aluminum is stiff and light at the same time, which keeps the weight of the wheel down without giving up strength, and aluminum is corrosion resistant as well. In the hub sit double ball bearings, which spread the load over two rows of balls and give an even and stable run even when the wheel is fully loaded. The load capacity is up to 150 kg per wheel.

The diameters in the series run from 80 to 100 mm. A larger diameter rolls more easily over joints and thresholds and lowers the rolling resistance, while a smaller one keeps the overall height down where space is tight. The wheel is mounted with a top plate, that is, a plate with four bolt holes, which gives a firm mount against the frame of the cart or the machine base and makes assembly easy.

Where does it fit? A fixed wheel in ElastoPUR with an aluminum hub often sits at the front of transport carts, under stands, material carts and machine bases where the movement should go straight. The soft tread makes it a good choice on coated or polished concrete and tile, and the quiet run is noticed in premises where staff work close to the equipment all day.

Think about the operating environment. Polyurethane is happy at normal indoor temperature and in dry to slightly damp environments. If the wheel stands still for a long time under full load, the tread can get a temporary impression that rolls out after a while; that is normal for elastic materials. The fixed bracket gives guidance, but should often be combined with swivel casters at the other corners for the cart to be maneuverable.
