Industrial caster in a fixed bracket with twin wheel, solid in PA6
This is an industrial caster in a fixed bracket made as a twin wheel, where both the running surface and the hub are in solid PA6 and the caster is mounted on a top plate. Two wheels sit side by side in the same bracket, which spreads the load over two running surfaces and gives stable running even under really heavy load. The fixed bracket rolls straight ahead and suits places where the equipment is to follow a set direction, for example under a heavy underframe or in a guided transport route.
The whole wheel is in nylon with a hardness of 83 degrees Shore D, which is a very hard and stiff material. That gives the lowest possible rolling resistance: the wheel rolls the most easily of all tread types and needs the least force to get going on an even floor. PA6 has low friction, takes abrasion and stands up to moisture and most chemicals in an industrial environment. Because the tread is hard it barely deforms under load, which is exactly what lets the wheel carry so much.
A comparison shows where the wheel belongs. A softer wheel in polyurethane or rubber is quieter and gentler on the floor and absorbs shocks better, but it rolls more heavily and carries less. The hard nylon wheel goes the opposite way: it rolls the most easily and carries the most, but makes more noise and can scratch a sensitive floor. So this wheel belongs on hard, even and durable floors where load capacity and easy rolling weigh more than quiet running.
The hub is also in solid PA6, which makes the wheel light in relation to its load capacity and completely free from corrosion. Inside sit double ball bearings that spread the load over two rows of balls and keep the running smooth and stable when the weight is high. Together with the twin wheel construction, that build is what lets the series handle heavy loads without binding.
The wheels come in diameters from 150 to 200 mm and carry up to 1500 kg per wheel. A larger diameter rolls more easily over joints, thresholds and uneven surfaces and lowers the rolling resistance further, while a smaller one keeps the overall height down where space under the frame is limited. The top plate with four screw holes gives a wide and stable fastener that handles the high forces, and because the bracket is fixed it helps the caster roll true.
Where does it fit? Industrial casters in a fixed bracket with solid PA6 sit under heavy machine underframes, conveyors, sturdy load carts and fixed transport routes in workshops and warehousing. The high load capacity and the low rolling resistance make it a good choice where large weights are to be moved with reasonable force on a hard-wearing floor. The fixed bracket is often combined with swivel casters at the other corners so that a cart both rolls straight and can be steered.
Think about the operating environment. Hard PA6 is insensitive to moisture and chemicals and rolls easily, but it does not absorb shocks and can give off noise and affect delicate floors. The caster therefore belongs on concrete, hard-coated industrial floors and similar hard-wearing surfaces, not on sealed or sensitive floors. On an uneven surface the shocks are passed on to the load, so an even floor gives both quieter and gentler running.
