Gasket in graphite is a flat gasket in pure graphite that seals between two flat or flanged surfaces.
The graphite gasket is soft and gives way as the bolted joint is tightened so it fills out against the surfaces.
You place the gasket in graphite between the surfaces and tighten the bolted joint so the seam seals.
