The joint between spindle and base plate allows an angle of up to 20 degrees. That is plenty for the slopes found in workshops and warehouses. The base plate makes contact across its full area even when the frame is not vertical, and the load is spread over the plate instead of resting on an edge that gnaws at the floor. The spindle has wrench flats; the height is adjusted with an ordinary wrench even when the machine is already in place and pressing on the foot. Having the joint in the foot and not in the frame also means the machine can be moved to a place with a different floor slope without any new work. You screw, level and lock again. The wrench flats also keep your hands away from the pinch zone under the frame while you adjust.

The rubber anti-slip pad spares the floor and keeps the machine from wandering with the vibration, a common problem under equipment that is not anchored to the floor. In other respects dry indoor conditions are home ground for the combination of nylon and zinc plated steel.

Machines rarely stand on flat floors; concrete slopes, wears and gets patched in stages. Machine foot SF311 is an articulated leveling foot that takes up the unevenness of the floor and lets you level the machine with the spindle instead of with wedges and shims. The foot consists of a base plate, a joint and a threaded spindle that screws into the machine frame. The base plate is molded in impact resistant PA6 (nylon 6) with a matte black surface and a rubber anti-slip pad at the bottom, the spindle is in zinc plated steel and the series is sized for very heavy loads.

SF311 is a series with 62 versions. The base plate comes in diameters of 105 and 125 mm, the spindle in thread sizes from M16 to M30 and in lengths from 50 to 250 mm. The axial load reaches up to 3 500 kg per foot depending on size; the exact value per version is in the manufacturer's data sheet. You pick the size as a variant straight on the product page.
