Round Rod in PP LF 350x1000 mm natural

PP LF is electrically conductive polypropylene. LF means electrically conductive, and the carbon black that makes the material black leads static charge away. The surface resistivity is below 1000 Ohm and the volume resistivity below 1000 Ohm·m.

The density is 1.04 g/cm³ and the modulus 1450 MPa. The impact strength in the notched Charpy test is 32 kJ/m² and the water absorption on immersion below 0.2 percent. The fire rating is UL 94 HB.

PP LF is used in ATEX environments, powder handling, the electronics industry and other applications where static charge has to be led away. The material is machined with ordinary tools and welded like standard PP.

Conductive PP is machined with the same tools as standard PP, but the carbon black in the material wears harder on the cutting edges. Keeping the edge sharp and a moderate feed give the best result. Wire and rod are cut easily with side cutters or a fine toothed saw.
