Round Rod in PA6.6 MoS² 3048 mm black

This is a round rod made of PA6.6 MoS², polyamide 6.6 with molybdenum disulfide added as a dry lubricant.

The material is semi-crystalline and has a melting point of 253 °C.

The density is 1.15 g/cm³, the tensile strength 84 MPa and the elongation at break 25 percent.

The tensile modulus is 3200 MPa and the thermal conductivity 0.36 W/mK. The fire rating is HB.

Used for gears, sprockets, slide strips, bearing bushings, wear plates and structural parts that need a little higher stiffness and heat resistance than PA6.

The rod can be turned, milled, drilled and tapped with tools meant for engineering plastics. Carbide and coated inserts work best. Moisture affects the dimensions, so let the material rest in the workshop climate before the finishing cuts.
