Fixed bracket and industrial caster with solid heat-resistant phenolic wheel, mounted with top plate, 400 kg
Industrial caster in a fixed bracket with a solid phenolic wheel, heat resistant
This industrial caster has a fixed bracket and a solid wheel entirely in phenolic plastic, mounted with a top plate. It is made for transport in heat, where ordinary rubber and polyurethane wheels soften or break down. The phenolic is a hard thermoset with a hardness around 90 Shore D, and since the wheel is homogeneous in the same material there is no separate tread that can come loose or deform at high temperature. That gives a tough design that takes both heat and heavy load.
The heat resistance is the most important property of this caster. Phenolic keeps its shape and carrying capacity at high temperatures that make elastomers and thermoplastics give way. That makes the series suitable under oven trolleys, curing trolleys and other equipment that rolls into and out of heat over and over. The material also takes abrasion well and cares little about dry dust and particles in the environment.
The hard tread gives a low rolling resistance. A hard wheel is in practice not compressed under load, so it rolls easily and needs little pulling force to get going, which is valuable when the carts are fully loaded. The price you pay is that a solid phenolic wheel does not damp. It is louder than a soft wheel and can mark or scratch sensitive floors. Set it against a soft rubber wheel: the rubber wheel runs quietly and gently but does not handle the heat and carries less. Here the order is reversed, heat resistance and load capacity come first. This caster is chosen where the temperature decides, not where quiet is the priority.
The fixed bracket lets the wheel roll straight ahead and not turn sideways, which makes it suitable as the guiding pair together with swiveling casters on the same cart. Mounting is done with a top plate and four screw holes, a steady fastening that spreads the load evenly over the mounting. Inside sits a plain bearing, a maintenance free solution without grease that takes dust, dirt and heat better than an ordinary ball bearing and therefore belongs in exactly this kind of hot environment.
The wheels come in diameters from 80 to 200 mm and carry up to 400 kg per wheel. The smaller diameter keeps the overall height down under the cart where space is limited, while the larger rolls more easily over joints and thresholds and lowers the rolling resistance further. The load capacity covers everything from lighter tray trolleys up to heavy oven trolleys and process trolleys.
Where does it fit? The caster belongs in heat demanding processes: oven trolleys in bakeries and the food industry, curing and drying trolleys in workshops, and carts that roll through drying ovens in surface treatment, lacquering and painting. It works on concrete and sheet metal floors and keeps its shape and function at the temperatures that quickly finish off an ordinary wheel.
Think about the operating environment. The caster is built for heat and dry conditions. The hard tread gives no damping, so on uneven floors the run is harder and more rattling than with a soft wheel. Stay within the stated temperature and load capacity and the phenolic keeps both strength and shape.
