Joining kit box conveyor

Item no. P2011009 0.5 kg

The selected combination does not exist.

Box conveyors are built in sections, and sooner or later two sections are to become one. The joining kit is the part that does it: it links two box conveyor sections into one continuous run where cartons roll over the joint without noticing it.

A good joint is nothing you think about; a bad one is noticed every minute. When the sections are held in line and the transition is even the boxes roll on under their own power, but if the joint gets play or a difference in level the goods start to catch, twist and stop. In gravity flows, where no motor pushes from behind, smooth transitions are the difference between a run that looks after itself and one that needs a hand every five minutes.

The kit weighs 0.48 kg and according to the specification of the manufacturer it is not rated as heat resistant. If the conveyor is to stand in an environment with raised temperature you should therefore check against the data sheet before you order; in a normal warehouse and production environment it is nothing to think about.

Modular thinking is the whole point of box conveyors. You start with the sections the flow of today calls for, and when the volumes grow you extend the run instead of changing system. The joining kit also makes the rebuild reversible: unbolt it, move the sections where the business points and join them up again. The layout follows the flow, not the other way around.

Here is how you plan the purchase: count the joints in the run you are drawing, not the sections. A run of four sections has three joining points, and it is a sorry thing to stand there with three finished sections and one joint missing. Order the kits at the same time as the sections, so the whole run is built in one go.

Also check that the kit suits your particular conveyor model. Joining kits are designed for the conveyor profiles of the manufacturer, and dimensions and mount are shown in the data sheet that we link on the product page; a look there before ordering saves a return trip.

A typical scenario: the packing line is to be extended by two sections before the high season. With joining kits at hand the job is done in an evening; the sections are carried in, joined to the existing conveyor and the flow opens again for the morning shift. Without the right small parts the same job becomes an improvisation, and improvised joints are exactly the places where boxes later get stuck. Count on a rebuild always taking an hour longer than planned; with the small parts in the house that is at least the only delay.

Small items like this one also decide how quickly damage can be put right. A section that has been hit is replaced in minutes if the joint can be released and a new kit lies in the store; standing still waiting for a special part in the middle of the season is considerably more sour.

In operation the joints are worth a look now and then. Go over the run when it has been rebuilt or moved, feel that the joints are tight and that the sections are level; a quarter turn at the right time is cheaper than a flow that has slowly gone stiff without anybody understanding why.

The joining kit belongs everywhere box conveyors do: e-commerce warehouses that grow in stages, packing lines that are rebuilt before the season and production areas where the flow changes more often than the fittings. With a few kits in reserve you can also repair and rebuild without waiting.
