The selected combination does not exist.

Polypropylene takes up practically no water. The panel does not swell, rot or grow mold, and it stands up to road salt, oils and most cleaning agents; the sort of thing wood only survives with impregnation and careful edge sealing. The glass fiber provides the stiffness. Plain polypropylene would be too weak for floors and larger spans, but as a reinforced composite the panel holds its shape under load as well. Cleaning is just as simple: a pressure washer and ordinary agents bite on the dirt without biting on the panel.

Impact toughness is one of the strongest sides of the material. The panel takes knocks from load carriers, tools and goods without chipping or cracking, and a dent in the surface does not affect the function the way moisture damage in a wooden floor does. That is why the composite has become common in vans, horse trailers and trailers where the floor takes a beating every day.

The uses reach further than the vehicle side. We see GoPanel as wear protection on top of existing floors, as wall cladding in wash bays and industrial kitchens, as shelving in warehouses and as spacers and returnable packaging in industry. The panel also turns up in kennels and stables, where the combination of moisture resistance and easy cleaning is hard to match with wood based materials. It works as temporary protective sheeting on building sites too, since the panels take being both walked on and driven over.

The family is sold in several versions: honeycomb core where low weight per square meter is the main point, and solid composite where point loads and screw holding power weigh heavier. Which version this article has is shown above. The base material of polypropylene and glass fiber is the same throughout the series.

Keep in mind that the panel is a thermoplastic and behaves like one. In normal use, indoors as in vehicles, it is stable, but do not fit it tight against hot components such as exhaust systems or heaters. Stiffness drops somewhat as the temperature rises; that is normal for polypropylene based materials and rarely a problem in practice.

Machining needs no special tools. Cut with a circular saw or a jigsaw with a fine-toothed blade, mill recesses with a router and drill with ordinary twist drills; the edges need no sealing afterwards. Use through bolts with a washer that spreads the load, and the fastening stays firm even with vibration. Bonding works on most versions with adhesive meant for polyolefins, while laser cutting should be avoided since polypropylene melts rather than cuts.

Do you need a size other than the full panel? We cut GoPanel to your dimensions; add CTS, our cut-to-size service, to the cart or send a drawing. Check at the same time that the thickness suits the span in your construction, because it is usually the stiffness that decides the choice, not the surface.

A Sheet in GoPanel 2500x575x11 mm is a composite panel of polypropylene and glass fiber in gray with an anthracite tone. GoPanel was developed as a lighter and moisture resistant alternative to plywood in vehicle bodywork, and that is where the panel does the most good: floors, walls and interiors that have to take water, cleaning chemicals and hard daily handling. This panel weighs 6.33 kg, which you notice both during fitting and in the payload of the vehicle.

This version has a honeycomb core of polypropylene between glass fiber reinforced face layers, with fire rating E and UV protection. The manufacturer marks the panel as recyclable; when the floor or the wall is replaced one day, the material goes to material recycling instead of landfill.
