Tube caster RH40, matte black
Square profile dominates Swedish cart and frame building for one simple reason: it is stiff in torsion and easy to weld at right angles. Tube Wheel RH40 is made for exactly that world, a push in wheel in PA6 for square tubes that is mounted straight into the end of the profile and makes the base roll without bolted wheel plates. The leg becomes its own wheel mount, and the structure keeps the clean lines that made you choose square profile in the first place.
The version is single and clearly defined: the wheel fits profiles with a side dimension of 35x35 mm and a wall thickness of 1.5 mm, has a 20 mm roller and is rated for an axial load of 40 kg per wheel. Axial load is what presses along the axis of the profile, that is straight down through the leg on a standing frame. Four wheels under an evenly loaded cart give plenty of margin for most things that get rolled around a workshop, but always work out the real load distribution; the corner nearest the load carries more than the other three.
The material is PA6 with a matte black surface, in both body and roller. Nylon rolls quietly on concrete and epoxy floors, leaves no dark marks and handles oil, cutting fluid and cleaning agents without swelling. Unlike rubber covered wheels it gets no flattened tread from standing still under load for weeks, and toughness in the material means thresholds and cable ducts do not chip the roller. The matte surface blends in against painted and untreated profiles.
RH40 typically sits under material carts, packing tables, display racks, machine guards and gates built in 35x35 profile. Combining it with push in feet for the same profile size is practical when a structure is to have two fixed and two rolling legs, or when the same frame series is built in both standing and rolling versions; all legs then end with components from the same family and look the same from the side. For round tubes there are matching wheels in sizes 32 to 40 mm.
Mounting and maintenance are uncomplicated. Cut the profile square, deburr the inside and tap in the wheel with a rubber mallet until it bottoms out. If it sits loose the wall thickness is usually the culprit; measure with a caliper instead of trusting the order list. Keep the floor free of chips and grit, because a 20 mm roller stops against obstacles that a big swivel caster rolls over. A worn out wheel is pried out and replaced in under a minute. Full dimensions are in the manufacturer's data sheet.
At the same time the push in wheel is not the right answer to everything. If the cart has to be steered through tight passages with a heavy load, swivel casters on a plate are a better choice, and if the load goes above the figures stated for the series you should move up to a completely different wheel class. But for racks and guards that mostly stand still, and that need to be rolled aside when the floor is swept or the machine is serviced, a wheel inside the profile is the simplest solution; no plates to weld, no holes to drill and no extra overall height to compensate for.
The wheels are supplied in packs of 100 pieces, which is enough for 25 carts with four wheels each; a natural volume for series production or for the maintenance store that wants to avoid ordering small items every month.
