Lever handle HS10 bushing 25x84/M10x25 mm, fitting in brass, glossy white
Lever Handle HS10 is a comfortable handle in PA6 that is screwed onto a threaded lever, stud bolt or control arm. This version has a brass bushing with an M10 thread and a glossy white surface; you get a metal thread in a plastic handle, and it is exactly that combination that makes the product last in daily operation.
The dimensions are chosen for a full hand grip: the handle is 84 mm long with a largest diameter of 25 mm, and the brass bushing sits in the base with the threaded part facing the lever. The shape fills the hand without being clumsy, and the length gives the fingers enough lever arm even when the lever is operated with gloves. Other detail dimensions are given by the manufacturer in the data sheet, together with all the designs in the series.
Why brass in the thread? Because threads directly in plastic are a known weakness in controls. Every time a handle is screwed on and off, or is exposed to vibration in operation, the plastic thread wears a little more; one day the handle spins loose. The brass bushing takes repeated assembly, does not seize against steel threads and does not rust in a damp environment. The handle can be tightened properly and locked with a lock nut or thread locker without the thread deforming, which is hard to achieve in a design made entirely of plastic.
The body itself is PA6, a nylon with high toughness and impact resistance. A lever handle lives a hard life; it takes knocks from tools, gets used as a pull handle even though that was not the idea and takes the hit when something falls. PA6 handles that treatment without chipping or cracking, and the material stands up to oil, grease and normal cleaning agents. The glossy white surface is easy to wipe clean and makes dirt visible, which is appreciated in premises where machines are to be kept light and clean; the manufacturer makes the series in both glossy and matte surfaces, and this is the glossy white design.
The handle typically sits on clamping levers in fixtures, gear levers, valve levers, feed arms and adjusting devices in machine building. In design terms the simplest recipe is an M10 stud bolt in the end of the lever: screw on the handle, lock with a lock nut, done. In vibrating operation we recommend thread locker, and if the handle has to be replaced often the lock nut is preferable since it comes off without heat or chemicals. The thread depth of the bushing is given in the data sheet; check it against the free length of the stud bolt so that the handle bottoms neatly against the shoulder of the lever.
White is not only a question of looks, by the way. In packaging and food related production, light machine parts are chosen so that dirt, grease and foreign material are spotted early, and the same logic applies in assembly halls with demands on order and clean surfaces. The glossy surface strengthens the effect; fingerprints and oil film show, which is exactly the point. If you would rather have a handle that hides everyday life there is the matte design of the series, but in premises with cleaning routines the glossy white one is the logical choice.
The pack of 250 pieces is sized for series production and for machine builders who have standardized on the same handle across the whole product program. A handle that has yellowed or been scratched after years in operation is replaced in a minute, and with a stock on the shelf production does not have to wait for small items.
