Tube in PPS 190/125x3000 mm beige

Tube in PPS is extruded polyphenylene sulfide, a high performance engineering plastic for tough operating environments. The material handles continuous operation around 220 degrees, carries fire rating V0 without additives and takes up practically no water, so the dimensions stay put even in moisture and steam.

The chemical resistance is very broad. PPS stands up to acids, bases, solvents and fuels that break ordinary engineering plastics, and below 200 degrees there is in practice no solvent that dissolves the material.

The tube format suits parts that are going to have a hole in the middle anyway. Sealing rings, bushings, sleeves and flanges are turned out of the tube with less waste and shorter machining time than out of solid rod.

PPS machines well with tools meant for engineering plastics. Carbide inserts, moderate cutting data and good cooling give clean surfaces and stable tolerances. The stiffness and low creep of the material mean finished parts keep their shape and fit under load and heat.

PPS with a capital S is not to be confused with PPs with a small s, which is fire retardant polypropylene. This tube is polyphenylene sulfide.

With an outer diameter of 190 mm, an inner diameter of 125 mm and a length of 3000 mm, the tube gives many heavy ring blanks per length.
