The T shape is used in the middle of a tube length, where a crossing tube connects to a continuous beam or a leg. Shelves, intermediate braces and dividers in racks are typical cases; the beam runs unbroken through the connector and keeps its stiffness.
RK36 is a T shaped three way connector with a steel core for square tubes in nylon PA6. The series covers square tube 20x20 and 25x25 mm with a wall thickness of 1.5 mm, and you pick the dimension as a variant here on the product page. The connector is pressed into the tube ends and builds the structure together without welding; cut the tubes, put the connector in and tap the parts together with a rubber mallet.
