It is built in ethylene propylene rubber, a weather and water rubber. The material stands up to ozone, UV, weather, hot water, steam and many chemicals, while the weak points are oil and fuel, where the rubber swells.
A 90° radiator hose bend is made to carry coolant in the engine cooling system.
