PP GF30 is polypropylene reinforced with 30 percent glass fiber. GF30 means reinforced with 30 percent glass fiber, which makes the material stiffer and more dimensionally stable. The glass fiber raises the stiffness and the heat resistance sharply while the elongation at break drops.
The density is 1.15 g/cm³, the tensile modulus 6250 MPa and the flexural modulus 5500 MPa. The flexural strength is 120 MPa, the ball indentation hardness 110 MPa and Shore D 85. Vicat B/50 is 130 °C and HDT/A 140 °C. The melting point is 165 °C.
The impact strength is 40 kJ/m² in an unnotched Charpy test and 9 kJ/m² in a notched test. The maximum service temperature is 100 °C continuously and 140 °C for short periods. The fire rating is UL 94 HB. The material is not approved for food contact.
PP GF30 suits construction parts that have to be stiff and still take acids, bases and moisture, for example holders, mounts, panels and machine covers. It is machined with carbide tools and can be sawn, milled and drilled.
