This is a sheet made of PA6 E MD FG, metal detectable food approved extruded polyamide 6.
The material is semi-crystalline. The base is extruded polyamide 6 with a density of 1.14 g/cm³.
MD means the material can be picked up by a metal detector, and FG that it is approved for direct contact with food.
We have no full data sheet for the metal detectable grade, so no mechanical values are given beyond the density of the base material.
Used in the food industry and in other production where it is critical that a broken off piece can be found with a metal detector.
The plastic can be sawn, milled, turned and drilled with tools meant for engineering plastics. Sharp inserts give a cleaner surface when milling. Moisture affects the dimensions, so let the material rest in the workshop climate before the finishing cuts.
This particular sheet in PA6 E MD FG measuring 3000 x 500 mm in the color gray, suits food handling parts such as cutting boards, slide strips and machine guides. Cut to size on request.
