PE Bulk Bead is ultra high molecular weight polyethylene with microscopic glass beads mixed in. The beads raise the density and the surface hardness and lower the abrasion further. It is the most wear resistant variant in the whole PE family.
The density is 0.96 g/cm³, the modulus 700 MPa and the yield strength above 17 MPa. The elongation at break is above 350 percent and the ball indentation hardness 38 MPa. The abrasion according to Sand-Slurry is 70, the lowest figure in the whole PE family. The dynamic coefficient of friction is 0.15.
The melting point is 135 °C and the maximum service temperature 80 °C. The material takes temperatures down to -200 °C. The water absorption is 0.01 percent and the volume resistivity above 10¹² Ohm·cm. The molecular weight is 11.5 x 10⁶ g/mol and the fire rating UL 94 HB.
PE Bulk Bead is used for extreme wear surfaces, linings in silos and tipping carts and sliding layers where the service life is critical.
PE Bulk Bead is used for extreme wear surfaces, linings in silos and tipping carts and sliding layers where the service life is critical. The glass beads give a harder surface and even lower abrasion than pure ultra high molecular weight polyethylene.
This PE Bulk Bead sheet is 2000x1000 mm in yellow-green, a format that suits cutting boards, linings and sliding layers where you need a generous work piece.
