Industrial caster in a swivel bracket with PUR tread and PA6 hub, top plate
This is a swiveling industrial caster with a tread in polyurethane and a hub in PA6, with a tread at 88 degrees Shore A. That is a slightly softer PUR than the very hardest workshop grade, which gives a somewhat smoother run and a little better grip while the load capacity is kept up. The swivel bracket turns freely through 360 degrees, so the cart can be steered and turned in a small space without you having to lift or back up the whole rig.
The polyurethane tread has a low rolling resistance in relation to its stiffness. The caster gets going without you having to put in unnecessary force, and that shows clearly at a workplace with many short moves, for example a picking cart that stops at every shelf section. The tread spares the floor considerably more than a wheel in hard plastic or steel and takes most oils, greases and mild chemicals in a workshop environment.
A short comparison helps you place the caster correctly. A really hard tread, around 98 Shore A, rolls the most easily and carries the most, but also gives off more noise and can mark sensitive floors. A soft rubber tread is quieter and kinder to the surface, but carries less and takes more force to roll. At 88 Shore A this tread sits just on the firmer side: it puts load and easy running first but gives a touch more than the hardest grades.
The PA6 hub is light and does not rust, which keeps the weight of the whole caster down and makes it durable in damp spaces. A ball bearing inside the hub gives low friction and a steady, smooth run under load. The wheel has a diameter of 100 mm and carries up to 250 kg, a load capacity that covers many transport carts and machine underframes in daily operation.
Mounting is with a top plate, a square plate with four screw holes that gives a stable and torsionally stiff fastening against the cart frame. The caster comes with a total lock brake that locks both rolling and swiveling at the same time, so the cart stands completely still while it is loaded or worked at.
Where does it fit? Industrial casters with a PUR tread and a top plate go under transport carts, rolling tables, assembly carts and movable machine underframes in workshops, warehouses and production. The four hole top plate makes it easy to bolt the caster onto a flat frame, and the total lock brake is worth a lot at workstations where the cart is to stay put while somebody works at it.
Think about the operating environment. Polyurethane is happiest at normal indoor temperature and in dry to slightly damp environments; it is not made for strong heat or outdoor use on rough ground. If the caster stands still for a long time under full load, the tread can take a temporary flat spot that rolls out after a short while, which is normal for polyurethane.
