Swivel bracket with total lock brake and industrial caster with cast iron hub and ElastoPUR tread, mounted with top plate, 800 kg
Industrial caster in a swivel bracket with firmer ElastoPUR and cast iron hub
This is a swiveling caster with a tread in ElastoPUR and a hub in cast iron. The tread here has a hardness of 93 degrees Shore A, so a firmer polyurethane surface than the softest grades in the series. The firmer tread rolls more easily and takes load more efficiently, while the polyurethane is still gentler on the floor than a plain plastic or steel wheel. This is a wheel for anyone who wants low effort per push without giving up floor care altogether.
Starting friction and rolling resistance follow from how the tread behaves in service. A firmer ElastoPUR compresses less under load, which gives lower rolling resistance and running that feels light even over longer distances. The wheel gets going quickly from a standstill, an advantage with many starts and stops along a transport route or in a packing flow. The polyurethane stands up to wear and resists most oils, greases and mild chemicals in workshops and warehouses.
Where does this wheel land compared with the alternatives? A softer ElastoPUR wheel, around 75 to 83 Shore A, gives quieter running and better grip on uneven concrete, but has higher rolling resistance. A hard nylon wheel rolls even more easily but is noisy and can scratch coated floors. The firmer tread at 93 Shore A lands in the middle: easier rolling than the soft ones, more floor care than the hard ones.
The hub in cast iron is the stiff core that carries the load and holds its shape even under high loads. It is heavier than a light metal hub, but the stiffness gives stability under a heavy cart. Inside the hub sit double ball bearings that spread the load over two rows of balls and give even running even when the cart is fully loaded. The series handles load capacities up to 1000 kg per wheel.
The wheels come in diameters from 200 to 250 mm, a range at the coarser end that suits heavier carts and longer transport. A larger diameter rolls more easily over joints and thresholds and lowers the rolling resistance further, while the smaller one keeps the overall height down where the clearance under the cart is limited. The swiveling bracket rotates 360 degrees, so the cart is easy to aim and maneuver. A total lock brake is available that locks both the wheel and the swivel, so that the cart stands still during loading and unloading. Mounting is by top plate and four screw holes against a flat underframe.
Where does it fit? Firmer ElastoPUR with a cast iron hub sits under heavy transport carts, material carts, machine underframes and picking carts in industry and warehousing where the distances are long and the starts are many. The lower rolling resistance of the tread makes it a good choice when staff push the same cart all day and need to save their strength, while coated concrete and epoxy floors are to be kept intact.
Think about the operating environment. Polyurethane is happy at normal indoor temperature and in dry to slightly damp surroundings. If the caster stands still for a long time under full load, the tread can take a temporary flat spot that rolls out after a while; a firmer tread is less prone to mark that way than a soft one, but the phenomenon comes with elastic materials.
