This is a swiveling industrial caster with a tread in TPE and a hub in PP, fastened through a bolt hole and fitted with a ball bearing. The swivel bracket turns freely through 360 degrees, so the cart follows smoothly through curves and turns. The TPE tread has a hardness of 85 degrees Shore A, a firm but yielding running surface that rolls quietly and as a rule does not mark the floor. The bolt hole means the caster is bolted on with a single through bolt through the bracket, a compact mounting that suits profiles and underframes with an existing hole.

The tread is the working surface of the caster and decides how it feels in operation. At 85 Shore A, TPE sits between a soft rubber and a hard plastic; it damps small shakes without becoming sluggish. The rolling resistance is moderate, so the wheel rolls off without you having to strain, something you notice at close starts and stops along a line. Compared with a softer rubber wheel, TPE rolls more easily and takes less set, but does not damp quite as much on an uneven surface. Compared with a hard plastic wheel, TPE is clearly quieter and kinder to the floor, at a somewhat higher rolling resistance.

Here a ball bearing sits in the hub, which lowers the rolling resistance and gives an even, easy running motion compared with a simple plain bearing. That shows most clearly over longer transport distances and when the cart is to get going under load. The hub in PP is light and corrosion free and takes moisture and normal cleaning.

This family comes with several brake options, which makes it flexible to build a cart with. A wheel brake locks the wheel so that it does not roll away. A total lock brake locks both the wheel and the swivel function, so the caster neither rolls nor turns, good when a cart is to stand completely still during work. A directional lock locks only the swivel in the direction of travel so the wheel holds straight ahead, which makes a long cart easier to run straight without it wanting to veer. You choose the brake by how the cart is to behave when it stands and when it is run.

The wheels come in diameters from 100 up to 150 mm, and the series handles load capacities up to 100 kg per wheel depending on size. A larger diameter rolls more easily over joints and thresholds and lowers the rolling resistance, while a smaller one keeps the overall height down where the space under the cart is limited. The load capacity sits in the medium heavy segment and suits ordinary transport and assembly carts.

Where does it fit? The swivel caster with a bolt hole often sits under transport carts, assembly carts, adjustable tables and machine underframes where there is already a bolt hole to fasten into. The quiet run makes it suitable in premises where staff work close by, and the swivel action plus the brake options make the cart both easy to maneuver and safe to park.

Think about the operating environment. TPE is happiest at normal indoor temperature and is not made for high temperatures or outdoor use. If the caster stands still for a long time under full load, the tread can take a temporary flat spot that rolls out after a while; that is normal for elastic materials. For a stable cart it often pays to mix swiveling wheels with a pair that have a directional lock or a fixed function.
