Think about the operating environment. Polyurethane is happy at normal indoor temperature and in dry to slightly damp surroundings. At very low temperatures the tread gets stiffer, and if the caster stands still for a long time under full load the running surface can take a small flat spot that rolls out after a while. That is normal for polyurethane and does not affect the durability.

This is a swiveling industrial caster with a twin wheel, a tread in cast polyurethane and a hub in cast iron, built for the heaviest internal transport. The swivel bracket turns freely through 360 degrees, so even a fully loaded cart can be steered around corners and into narrow aisles. The twin wheel carries the load on two running surfaces next to each other, which gives a wide support area and a stable run when the weight is high and the cart turns.

The PUR tread has a hardness of 93 degrees Shore A. It is a firm polyurethane that takes a high point load without deforming and that is still far better for the floor than a wheel in plain plastic or steel. The polyurethane resists oil, grease and most of the mild chemicals in a workshop and wears slowly, so the tread lasts year after year in daily use.

How does it roll? Because PUR is hard, the tread is barely compressed against the floor, and that keeps the rolling resistance low. The caster gets moving with little force and rolls on easily even under a really heavy load, which is clear to whoever pulls the cart by hand. Compare it with a soft rubber wheel: the rubber cushions better and runs more quietly, but it has to be pressed together on every revolution and therefore needs more force. PUR is the choice when you want to move a lot of weight with little effort and be gentle on the floor at the same time; if delicate goods have to be cushioned against vibration on an uneven floor, a softer tread suits better.

The cast iron hub is the body of the wheel. It is stiff and dimensionally stable even under extreme load, and that is why the series handles load capacities up to 6300 kg per twin wheel. Inside sit double ball bearings that put the load on two rows of balls and keep the running smooth even when the wheel turns under a high load.

The wheels come in diameters from 125 to 400 mm. A larger diameter rolls more easily over joints, cable ducts and thresholds and lowers the rolling resistance further, while a smaller one keeps the overall height down where space is limited. If you need to park or steer the cart, the caster is available with a wheel brake that locks the running surface, with a directional lock that locks the swivel so the wheel only rolls straight, and with a combined wheel brake and directional lock. The directional lock is handy on long straight runs where the cart has to hold its course. Mounting is with a top plate and four screw holes against a flat underframe.

Where does it fit? PUR with a cast iron hub in a swivel bracket goes under heavy transport carts, machine underframes, pallet carts and platform carts in manufacturing industry and warehouses. The high load capacity makes the caster suitable where a single running surface is not enough, for example under machines that have to be moved or under carts with a concentrated point load. The hard but floor-friendly tread suits painted and polished concrete, and the swivel bracket with a directional lock means the same caster can be used both for maneuvering and for straight transport runs.
