This is a swiveling industrial caster with a swivel bracket and two solid wheels in cast PA6 C, sized for the heaviest transport that still has to be maneuvered. The wheel is all PA6 C with a hardness of 85 degrees Shore D, a stiff nylon that holds its shape and carries large weights on a small area. The swivel bracket turns 360 degrees and the twin wheel shares the load over two running surfaces; the series handles load capacities up to 5000 kg per unit. The caster can be ordered with a wheel brake, a directional lock or a combination of wheel brake and directional lock.

A hard material pays off under a heavy load. PA6 C has low rolling resistance and low friction, so even a very heavy cart starts moving and swivels without demanding unnecessary force. The tread is barely squeezed together, the contact area stays small and the roll is efficient on even, hard floors. That makes the caster a working tool where concentrated weights have to be moved and turned, for example when transloading machine parts, molds or filled load carriers.

It is a trade-off against softer wheels. A rubber or polyurethane wheel runs more quietly and absorbs shocks, but is squeezed together under load and gets heavier to roll and turn when the weight is high. PA6 C does the exact opposite: the highest load capacity, the lowest rolling resistance and an easy swivel, but the material is hard and can be noisy and scratch sensitive floors. For really heavy loads on durable floors it is the strength and the low rolling force that weigh most.

The swivel bracket makes the unit swiveling and lets the cart be turned on the spot and steered between racks and machines. The different brake options give flexibility in how the cart is secured: the wheel brake locks the rotation of the wheel, the directional lock locks the swivel so the wheel points straight ahead, and the combination locks both roll and swivel for a firm parked position. The bracket is mounted with a top plate, four screw holes against a strong underframe.

Inside each hub sit double ball bearings. Two rows of balls spread the high load and keep the running even when the wheel carries heavy weight and is swiveled often. That eases the wear on the bearing and keeps both roll and swivel light in the long run.

The wheels come in diameters from 125 to 300 mm. A larger diameter rolls more easily over joints, thresholds and cable ducts and lowers the rolling resistance, while a smaller one keeps the overall height down where space is limited. The diameter is chosen to suit the condition of the floor and how heavy the load is.

Think about the operating environment. PA6 C takes moisture and most workshop chemicals and keeps its shape over a wide temperature range. On uneven or delicate floors a hard nylon wheel is not the right choice; there a softer option wins. If the wheel stands still for a long time under a full load, nylon holds its shape and takes no permanent flat spot, an advantage during longer standstills.
