Swivel caster in PP with top plate, harder version

This swivel caster is molded in one piece in polypropylene, tread and hub together, in a firm grade with a hardness of around 75 degrees Shore D. The bracket has a top plate with four screw holes and swivels freely through 360 degrees, which gives you a caster that both sits steadily and is easy to maneuver. The design is simple and wear-resistant, made for daily indoor use where the caster has to change direction often.

The firmer polypropylene rolls very easily. The tread gives almost nothing under load, so the rolling resistance stays low and the wheel gets moving without you having to put in force, even on a floor with some dust. That is an advantage in work with many starts and stops, such as at an assembly station or in a picking warehouse. The plastic is light, handles moisture and stands up to grease, oil and mild chemicals, which makes the caster easy to keep clean.

The hardness is also a compromise. A hard wheel does not absorb shocks and runs louder on a hard floor than a soft rubber or polyurethane wheel. On a sensitive floor, a hard tread can leave marking over time. If you want quiet and gentle handling, a softer wheel is the right one; if you need the lowest rolling resistance, low weight and good chemical resistance, the hard PP tread is a good choice. It is a trade-off you make based on the floor and how quiet it has to be.

The wheels come in diameters from 30 to 100 mm, a span that covers both small appliance casters and slightly larger cart wheels. A small diameter gives a low overall height where space is tight, while a larger one rolls more easily over thresholds and joints. The hub can be ordered with a plain bearing, which is maintenance-free and untroubled by dirt and moisture, or with a ball bearing for lower rolling resistance and a smoother run when the wheel spins a lot.

The top plate with four holes gives a steady fastener and is practical on new underframes, since the hole pattern is easy to prepare. If you would rather have a bolt hole, the same caster is available in that version. You can choose a wheel brake, which locks the wheel itself, or a total lock brake, which locks both the wheel and the swivel and holds the cart completely still during work.

Where does it fit? With a load capacity of up to 140 kg, this is a widely used indoor caster for light and medium duty tasks. It sits under appliances, instrument carts, shelf carts and smaller machines. Since polypropylene handles cleaning and hosing down, the caster is popular in kitchens, healthcare and clean production areas where hygiene sets demands and the casters are wiped down often.

Think about the operating environment. Polypropylene suits normal indoor temperature and does not handle high temperatures as well as a heat-resistant plastic. The hard tread flexes very little, so on a rough or uneven floor the ride feels bumpy; a soft wheel is more comfortable there. On a smooth and dry surface the caster runs light and predictable.
