This is a swiveling caster with a tread in polyurethane and a hub in aluminum, built for maneuverable carts that have to carry a fair amount of weight and still be easy to steer. The bracket rotates freely through 360 degrees around the bolt hole, so the wheel follows the turn and lets the cart be lined up even in tight aisles. The tread has a hardness of 93 degrees Shore A, a polyurethane with some give that rolls easily but still carries properly.

The hardness here is a little lower than on the hardest PUR treads, and that shows in operation. The tread still rolls with low rolling resistance and gets going without unnecessary force, but the slightly softer surface gives a little more grip and takes up small unevenness more kindly. The polyurethane is gentler on the floor than a plastic or steel wheel and stands up to wear, oils, greases and mild chemicals. Compared with a really soft rubber wheel this one rolls more easily and carries more, but does not absorb impacts as well on rough ground; compared with a hard nylon wheel it runs more quietly and is gentler on the floor, but has slightly higher rolling resistance. This balance makes it a good working wheel for smooth to slightly uneven indoor floors.

The aluminum hub is stiff and light at the same time. It carries the load without flexing and holds its shape even under heavy load, while being corrosion resistant and not rusting in damp environments. Inside the hub sit double ball bearings that spread the load over two rows of balls and give smooth, stable running even when the wheel is fully loaded. That design lets the wheel roll easily despite high weight and take the side load that arises when a loaded cart is turned.

The wheels come in diameters from 80 to 100 mm and carry up to 150 kg per wheel. A larger diameter rolls more easily over joints and thresholds and lowers the rolling resistance, while a smaller one keeps the overall height down where space is limited. Mounting is by bolt hole, a single bolt hole through the bracket, which suits fork or tube constructions where a top plate does not fit. The caster is available with a total lock brake that locks both the wheel and the swivel, so the cart stands completely still during loading or work.

Where does it fit? Swivel casters in PUR with an aluminum hub sit under heavier transport carts, material carts, machine underframes and mobile racks in industry, warehousing and workshops, where you want both high load capacity and a cart that is easy to maneuver. The light hub design is an advantage where the cart is lifted or moved by hand often, since the total weight of the cart is lower than with a cast iron hub. In environments where the floor is hosed down or where moisture occurs, the corrosion resistance of the aluminum is a clear plus.

In the choice it is worth thinking about how the load is spread. The 150 kg per wheel applies per wheel, so a cart on four casters has plenty of margin even with a heavy load, provided the weight sits reasonably evenly. If the load sits skewed, a couple of wheels can take the bulk of the weight, and it is that load which then has to fit inside the capacity of the wheel. The total lock brake locks both the wheel and the swivel, which means a heavy cart stands completely still during loading without being able to slide away.

Think about the operating environment. Polyurethane is happy at normal indoor temperature and in dry to slightly damp environments. If the caster stands still for a long time under full load, the tread can take a temporary flat spot that rolls out after a while; that is normal for elastic materials. On really rough outdoor surfaces you should choose a wheel with a larger diameter.
